The term for payout of guaranteed deposit amounts of depositors with Corporate Commercial Bank AD (in bankruptcy) expired on 4 December 2019

BDIF pays out guaranteed deposit amounts with ‘Corporate Commercial Bank’ AD (KTB) (in bankruptcy)

The Bulgarian National Bank revoked KTB license on 6 November 2014.

Under the Law on Bank Deposit Guarantee, Art. 23, para 5 BDIF repays guaranteed deposits not later than 20 business days of license revocation.

HOW MUCH

BDIF will pay out the deposit amounts of all guaranteed depositors with KTB up to BGN 196,000 (EUR 100,000) to each depositor with the bank. When calculating the reimbursable amount all sums in a depositor’s accounts are added up. The principal and the interest accrued as of the date of license revocation are added up in the coverage limit of BGN 196,000 (EUR 100,000).

Guaranteed are deposits:

– of Bulgarian and foreign physical persons and legal entities;

– in Bulgarian levs and foreign currency.

Deposits in foreign currency are repaid their BGN equvalent of the respective currency according to the respective exchange rate of the Bulgarian National Bank applicable at the initial day of payout. For euro deposits is applied the BNB fixed exchange rate: EUR 1 = BGN 1.95583. For deposits in other foreign currencies is applied the last published by BNB exchange rate as at the start of payout.

The following deposit products with KTB: ‘Preferential demand deposit’; ‘Demand deposit ’Plus’; ‘Term deposit 4х4’; ‘Demand deposit ‘Eurolev’; ‘Standard term deposit’ and ‘Preferential deposit’ with deposit certificate (nominal) are guaranteed by BDIF and do not fall out of scope of deposit guarantee. Though these deposits have been discontinued, they are still protected by BDIF, as well as are protected the funds under other publicly announced deposit products of KTB, as their contracts were concluded under standard and publicly announced interest rates and terms.

In case of а depositor has a liability to the bank, his/her debt it is deducted from the amount of the reimbursable sum.

In case you disagree with your reimbursable sum, you can file an objection to the conservator / trustee within one year from the initial date of payout. The conservator/trustee is obliged to answer you within 7 days of receipt of the objection.

WHEN AND WHERE

Payout of guaranteed deposit amounts of depositors with ‘Corporate Commercial Bank’ AD (KTB) starts on 4 December 2014 and is being carried out via the branch network of the determined by the BDIF Management Board nine banks: Allianz Bank Bulgaria AD, Central Cooperative Bank AD, CIBANK EAD, DSK Bank EAD, Eurobank Bulgaria AD, First Investment Bank AD, Raiffeisenbank (Bulgaria) EAD, UniCredit Bulbank AD, United Bulgarian Bank AD. Servicing banks were selected in compliance with the approved by BDIF Management Board criteria, of which the greatest relative weight bears the coverage of the branch network of the candidate bank with KTB branch network.

Distribution of depositors to servicing banks is per the last digit of the uniform civil number (UCN) — for individuals, and the last digit of unified identification code (UIC) or BULSTAT code — for legal entities. The aim is to achieve an even distribution of depositors across the branch network of the servicing banks and ensure smooth payout.

*In view of the reorganization of CIBANK through merger into United Bulgarian Bank deposits of individuals whose UCN’s last digit is 8, and deposits of companies whose UIC ends in 8 are paid via the branch network of United Bulgarian Bank.

KTB depositors will be serviced from Monday to Friday in the business hours of the respective servicing bank.

Branches of First Investment Bank servicing KTB depositors

Depositors may opt how to dispose with their money: open an account with the servicing bank and depositing there funds therein, order a transfer to an existing account with another bank, or withdraw the money in cash.

When disposing with their sums depositors shall be aware of the uniform tariff on service charges for KTB depositors, available on BDIF website. Interbank transfer through BISERA (single) is free of charge for KTB depositors, as well as the opening an account with the respective servicing bank.

Tariff of servicing banks for KTB depositors

HOW

You need to report in person to the servicing bank and present:

– For physical persons: an ID card or passport (for foreign citizens);

– For legal entities  – ID of the legal representative, UIC or BULSTAT and current certificate of registration of the legal entity (if not a trader registered in the Commercial Register)

You need to sign a declaration certifying that you are not a spouse or a relative up to second lateral degree of the bank’s ownership, management or auditors. A sample text of the declaration may be downloaded from the ‘Useful Documents’ section. Printed copies of the declaration will be available at the servicing bank.

You need not file an application to BDIF or the servicing bank.

Should you wish you may receive a certificate for you reimbursable sum from the conservator/trustee of KTB from the initial day of payout. The acquisition of such a certificate is not a prerequisite for obtaining your guaranteed amount.
