The Council of Ministers appointed Matey Matev Chairman of the Management Board of the Bulgarian Deposit Insurance Fund, effective 25 March 2019, following the discontinuation of the term of office of previous Chairman Radoslav Milenkov due to the latter’s election by the National Assembly as Deputy Governor of the Bulgarian National Bank, in charge of the Banking Supervision Department.

Mr. Matey Matev holds a Master of Laws degree from Sofia University ‘St. Kliment Ohridski’ and has substantial experience in the areas of contractual, commercial and real estate law, privatization deals, foreign investments and securities as well as legal representation in commercial, administrative and civil litigation.
